2020-09-02

On 31 of August, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, CSSC, delivers second Fast4Ward FPSO to SBM Offshore.

The FPSO is joint designed by MARIC and SWS, the FPSO is designed to produce 220,000 b/d of oil, will have associated gas treatment capacity of 400 MMcf/d and water injection capacity of 250,000 b/d. It will be spread moored in water depth of around 1,600 m (5,249 ft) and able to store 2 MMbbl of crude oil. Upon delivery, the FPSO will be deployed at Liza field in Stabroek Block offshore Guyana, where ExxonMobil has a 45% operating interest, with Hess and CNOOC holding 30% and 25% interest respectively. Meanwhile, construction of SBM Offshore"s second Fast4Ward hull (H1497) is also underway at SWS, following first steel cut in January 2019.

The ship installed 2 sets ABB podded propeller power full back transformation, single machine power up to 5500 kw, with gear drive, the motor cooling and efficient characteristics of permanent magnet motor, transmission can reduce the bearing, and free of oil cooling energy consumption. Reduce more than 90% oil consumption, more than 10% lower fuel consumption. At the same time, the pod and rudder pulp are made of environment-friendly mineral oil, which has zero pollution to the environment. In terms of maintenance, as the equipment and components are reduced to the minimum, the workload of installation and maintenance is reduced and the dock repair interval can be up to 10 years, which meets the environmental protection, high efficiency, simplicity and economy requirements.
