| Jellicoe inks LR2 quartet |
| Daehan Shipbuilding of South Korea has won a new order for four Aframax products tankers from a Singapore-based owner. The 114,900 dwt, LR2 vessels have been contracted by Jellicoe Tankers Asia and are the first newbuildings contracted by this company. The ships are due for delivery from the fourth quarter of 2016 and bring Daehan’s LR2 orderbook up to 14 vessels. According to the latest IHS Maritime newbuilding data, 121 Aframax tankers are now on order worldwide, of which some 65% are, coated, LR2 products tankers. This newbuilding orderbook represents about 14% of the existing Aframax fleet in service. |
