| HMD secures d’Amico LR1 LOI |
| South Korean Shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) has secured a letter of intent (LOI) for an LR1 tanker order from Italian shipowner D’Amico International Shipping. Should the order be confirmed then delivery of the 75,000 dwt eco-vessels is scheduled for the middle of 2017 and they are expected to cost about USD44 million each. They would be built at HMD’s Vinashin yard in Vietnam, where the Italian shipowner already has four 39,000 dwt tankers with delivery between October 2015 and September 2016. Also, four 50,000 dwt tankers are expected between October 2015 and January 2017. |
