|New Times grants Cargill’s Suezmax request
|China’s New Times shipbuilding yard has agreed to Cargill’s request to convert the second vessel of a two-vessel Capesize bulker order to a Suezmax tanker. Cargill originally ordered the 180,000 dwt pair in mid-2014, with deliveries scheduled from early to mid-2016. Since the collapse of the dry bulk market, the shipowner now sees more potential in the tanker market and, for that reason, switched hull number 0118018 to a 158,000 dwt crude oil tanker under hull number 0315819. The delivery is scheduled for the second half of 2016.
