| Wuchang Shipyard inked 3 x Deck Carriers contract |
CSSC Wuchang Shipyard inked 3 newbuilding contract of 13,000 DWT Deck Carriers. The buyer is PT Alur Biru Maritime of Indonesia. The first ship delivery from end of 2021, the price is not disclosed.
The deck carrier is a mature product of Wuchang shipyard, which has successfully built and delivered eight samilier vessels.
The new ship signed this time is the third-generation 13,000-ton deck transport ship independently developed and improved by Wuchang Shipyard. It adopts the high-efficiency and energy-saving patented ship type of Wuchang Shipyard Marine Engineering Institute, with a total length of about 130 meters, a width of 26 meters and a depth of 8 meters. It has a summer draft of 12,900 tons, a tropical draft of 13,200 tons and a design speed of 10.2 knots. Compared with the first and second generation 13,000-ton deck carrier, the new ship has made obvious improvements in the aspects of ship safety, crew passage convenience, cargo inspection and monitoring, etc. After simple refit, it can add the function of trucks entering the cargo hold area for loading and unloading, and improve the adaptability of ships carrying cargo. |
