Jiangnan delivers the first LPG fueled VLGC to Exmar

Jiangnan Shipyard delivers the first LPG fueled 86,000 cu.m VLGC to Belgian shipowner Exmar.  The vessel named "Flanders Innovation" is the largest dual-fuel LPG carrier in the world. The vessel lauched at Jiangnan Shipyard last year and its sister ship Flanders Pioneer in April this year.

The vessel length 230m, Breadth 36.6m, Depth 22.2m, Draught 11.8m. The vessel has 4 type a cargo tanker and couple of C tanker on the deck.



Exmar said it has financed the new vessel through a sale-leaseback scheme with the Japanese shipping group Doun Kisen. This will be the case with the second vessel as well.

Both of the carriers will sail on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The shipping firm will also take delivery of the second VLGC later this summer. They will both work for Norwegian energy giant Equinor under 5-year charters.

Exmar operates a large fleet of vessels including LPG and LNG tankers, two FSRUs but also Tango FLNG.
