SWS secures Cardiff newcastlemax pair |
Chinese shipyard Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) has secured an order for two newcastlemax bulkers from Greek shipowner Cardiff Marine. The two 208,000 dwt vessels will have an overall length of 299.88 m, beam of 50 m, depth of 25 m and draught of 18.5 m, with delivery scheduled for April and July 2016. They will be Malta-flagged and classed by Bureau Veritas (BV). The Greek shipowner also has four newcastlemaxes on order at Jiangsu Newyangzi Shipbuilding that were placed towards the end of 2013, with deliveries expected in November and December this year, July and December next year. No costs were disclosed for the latest newbuildings. |
